Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Senior Citizen Advisory
Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen
Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may address the Senior
Citizen Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the
Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the
consent of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings
Act, the Senior Citizen Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during
Citizen Comments.

Citizen Comments:
Mary Jane Hammonds shared that while she was walking on Wall/Main adjacent from
the Cigar Shop, there was a grate on the sidewalk that was raised. She called 911 who
redirected her to someone with the city and within 20-30 minutes someone with the city
was there to repair the grate. She was sharing the positive feedback of the quick
response from the city.
Maureen Dougherty asked why there are no sidewalks or ADA improvements along
Wall Street from Dooley Street and Main Street. Trent Kelley responded that it will be
looked at and evaluated and the concern would be passed on to the city's Public Works
and Engineering Department.

Jennifer Kashner •. the update on The REC. Spring Break camp was a success and
REC Staff is gearing up •> Summer Camps.
Chris Smith provided an update on The REC Phase 11 Performance Utilization Analysis.
During the presentation, Pam Price made the suggestion for an automatic door going
into the family changing area. Following Chris' presentation, a citizen commented and
agreed that based on everything said, and how busy The REC is, that the need for an
expansion is necessary.
Pam Price suggested additional signs as to when the pool is available. Jennifer Kashner
gaid she would follow up to see if additional signage is needed.

diaCE • — Gena Bohl provided an f•. • the Friends and Family program.
She is currently at two different non -profits therefore her hours can be a challenge
however she feels that setting • regular • has seemed to help. During the
month of March — 63 commodities provided, 11 rides, 5 home visits. She got a new
volunteer and a new client this month. The program is currently serving 74 houses and
86 individuals. One client is partnering with Six Stones to have some backyard and
outdoor improvements.

new partnership with Sister City, Barossa Valley Australia and there will be an event th
month to celebrate. Duff will be traveling there soon to visit. The Sister Cities program i
a way for cities throughout the world to be connected. Barosa Valley has a wine cultur
with a focus on agriculture and farming. A few weeks ago, council approved the new
hotel behind Hotel Vin — Hotel Vin Reserve where Sunbelt Rental is currently located.
Sunbelt is moving to Texan Trail. Houses on Jean Rd approved to be built. There has
been an increased development of Dallas Rd to encourage people to walk to work and
to all the things offered in downtown Grapevine. Saturday — GBS was kicked off at Oa
Grove Baseball and Softball Complex. Reminders of how great Grapevine is.
Isabelle Boyd - Senior Chorus is practicing and going to two nursing homes each
month. They will do their Memorial Day program and then they will resume in
September.
Carey Miller — Provided update on Empowering Seniors. He met the new commissioner
and received information regarding Senior Empowerment.
Chris Smith gave a brief update on the Master Plan, and that the vote will be on the
2genda tonight for City Council to vote on and he emphasized the importance of th,;
Senior Advisory Board in the next steps of this process.
