RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase for annual data,
support, and training for RFID inventory tag tracking with Operative IQ for
the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire) for an amount not to

expiration dates in the fire department supply rooms, vehicles and
narcotic safes. This inventory system utilizes radio -frequency identification
technology that automates the time-consuming manual process. With this
process, inventory counting is more accurate, quicker and automatically
documented. This process will save time and possibly lower inventory
costs in the long run.
