Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Animal Shelter
Advisory Committee under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance
Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Committee is
restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments.

The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Regular
Session on the 3rd day of December, 2014 at 1:00 p.m, in the Training Room of the
Grapevine Police Department, 307 W. Dallas Road, Grapevine, Texas 76051, with the
following members present to -wit:

Lydia Blake stated that the recent improvements at the shelter were very good and
appreciated.
The Committee was provided a copy of the September 9, 2014 meeting minutes. Jason
Steinle made a motion to approve the minutes, and Kristina Valentine seconded.
Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Brantner, Hudson, Snyder, Steinle, and Valentine
Nays: None

The committee discussed the following items.-
* A comparison review has been requested for the new year—it will allow for
Animal Services to have items such as staffing, facilities, and services compared
to other organizations and prioritized to meet the needs of the community.
* Grapevine Leadership Course for 2014 has selected a dog park study for their
yearly project and may desire input from, Animal Services,
* Service fees need' to be raised in order to increase the pre -adoption veterinary
services we offer. Area shelters will be polled and a consent item will be
requested to be placed on City Council's agenda.
* A City internship position was requested through the Citywide Internship Program
where monies have been separately designated to benefit departments with a
specific need. The position would represent Animal Services in a customer
service and community outreach capacity. Positions will be reviewed and
awarded in early 2015.

* Adoption Event at St. Francis Church in Grapevine 10/3
* Super Adoption at Grapevine Mills Mall October
* Grapevine Police Department Open House October
* Recycle/Adoption Event at Grapevine Animal Services 3/28, 11/14
* Free spay/neuter clinic at Grapevine Animal Services 1/23

There being no further business to come before the Committee, Ronald Hudson offered
a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:06 pm. and Kristina Valentine seconded. Motion
prevailed by the follA wing vote:
Ayes- Brantner, Hudson, Snyder, Steinle, and Valentine
Nays: None
Absent: Mayo
