Main Street Grapevine, Texas 76051 CALL TO ORDER CITIZEN COMMENTS 1. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Committee is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. NEW BUSINESS 2. Consider the minutes of the December 3, 2014 Animal Shelter Advisory Committee meeting and take any necessary action. 3. Review of Shelter Statistics (impounds, adoptions, redemptions, euthanasia). 4. Discuss current issues of Animal Services and Shelter. 5. Discuss upcoming events. Main St., Grapevine, Texas 76051, with the following members present to -wit: Lt. Ronald Hudson Chair, Grapevine Police Department Dr. Jason Steinle Member, Veterinarian Joy Mayo Member, Grapevine Citizen Nancy Snyder Member, Grapevine Citizen Kristina Valentine Member, Grapevine Animal Services constituting a quorum, with Member Debra Brantner absent and with the following liaison, Duff O'Dell, Grapevine City Council Liaison, absent. CALL TO ORDER Ronald Hudson called the meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. ITEM 1. CITIZEN COMMENTS Meredith Hammock of Dallas asked for the Pit Bull adoption policy to be reviewed. Stacey Conant of Hurst asked for the Pit Bull adoption policy to be reviewed. ITEM 2, CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES The Committee was provided a copy of the December 3, 2014 meeting minutes. Nancy Snyder made a motion to approve the minutes, and Jason Steinle seconded. Motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Hudson, Mayo, Snyder, Steinle, and Valentine Nays: None Absent: Brantner ITEM 3. ITEM 4. DISCUSS CURRENT ISSUES The committee discussed the following items: o The outdoor dog kennels at the shelter have begun to deteriorate. They will be requested in the new budget year. • Soundproofing in the dog room has not yet been contracted. The issue is in the process of being resolved. m Cat condos were ordered to accommodate up to 6 more cats and allow for viewing through windows from the lobby. m The City internship position was approved and the position was posted on the City site and university sites to gather applicants. The title of the position is Animal Services Intern. d The free spay/neuter clinics in January and February were successful. No action was taken by the Committee. ITEM 5.
