New Business
1) Tara Brooks (City Secretary) gave the oath of office for Cary Kyhl, Dion Christison,
and Ronnie Hatley.
2) Robert commented on the 3rd quarter reports. All lines of revenue are up with
merchandise up 37% (due to big outing concept shop), range up 34% and total revenue
up 16% of prior year. Persimmon’s revenue was up 22% due to good outing season
along with non-golf events.
Several successes were Poa on the greens disappeared with warmer weather, the
Texas Women’s Open was a great success with fantastic weather and all 3 rounds were
played. Cary Kyhl asked about the increase interest in the TWO… the CVB put more
resources into the event with a jumbo tron and other advertising items. The weather
helped as well, but more spectators were noticed.
Some challenges was the remodeling of the Fairway Event Center and management
once completed. Grapevine GC management along with CVB management have met
about scheduling events in the future. Persimmon’s have hired new staff for the
summer months.

3) Merlin was not present for his part of the presentation but RS commented on the golf
course conditions. The amount of rain has helped with making the golf course green.
The golf course is in great shape with the maintenance crew doing several summer
projects while also daily maintenance. The tree on the corner of #9 Bluebonnet was cut
down due to it dying and did not want to cause any damage to golfers.
We talked about the possibility of doing a greens resurfacing which may start in May
2026. We have submitted it in our budget and will more than likely be approved. Our
soil test recommends resurfacing 4 inches deep where they take out 4 inches of soil
mix. This process would take around 4-5 months.
Greens aerification will take place July 28 – 29.
4) Meghan commented on Persimmon’s. Persimmon’s had a great quarter with golf
events and non-golf events with good weather in June. They have had few new hires
for the summer and will be here during the fall months as well. They are always looking
at ways to improve the menu with new items.
5) Eric commented on the instruction programs which continues to grow. David’s junior
academy has grown so much he had to split his class up due to his growth on
Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. The junior golf camps held over the summer months have
increased dramatically and David has had to receive help from other employees. Chris
Martin’s instruction schedule has slightly increased and continues to do a great job with
beginners.
The outing season was very successful in the 3rd quarter with different sizes of outings.
Groups of 20+ players are required to do food in Persimmon’s.
6) RS updated everyone on the Fairway Events Center. Grapevine GC management
team have had conversations with the CVB management. A join calendar is in the
works for both departments.
