FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund in an amount estimated of $63,000. BACKGROUND: Council originally approved a six-month trial on December 17, 2024, with IPT in four hot spot locations within the City to improve the quality of our wastewater collection system operations. The six-month trial is complete and the City is seeing a benefit to treating FOG in this manner and wants to continue with this method of pretreatment. Staff would like to add five additional locations for the remaining six months of the year. As a reminder, this system is placed at locations where have high levels of oils and biologically removes them to avoid sanitary sewer back ups. This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Staff recommends approval.
