SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR PURCHASE OF CEMENT SLURRY TO STABILIZE
ROLLING HILLS AND REDBUD
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of cement slurry to
stabilize Rolling Hills and Redbud Lane from Martin Marietta Materials,
Inc. for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Permanent Capital Maintenance Fund for an
estimated amount of $37,448.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to purchase stabilizing slurry to be used on
the subgrade of Redbud Lane from North Dooley Street to Silverside
Drive and Rolling Hills Lane from Pool Road to the cul-de-sac. These
projects are being delivered by Tarrant County forces through a separate
I LA.
Purchases will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal
Cooperative Agreement with Tarrant County, Texas as allowed by Texas
Local Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code,
Section 791.
Tarrant County, Texas, solicited bids on F2024066, Annual Contract for
Cement Slurry and Cementitious Slurry Services. Based on evaluations
by Tarrant County, Texas, Martin Marietta was awarded the contract. This
is currently the final renewal option through April 29, 2026.
Staff recommends approval.
