A prayer and moment of silence led by Christian Ross. Approval of Minutes A motion was made to approve the September 18, 2025 meeting minutes. Motion: Robertson, Member Second: Fenton, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Guthrie, Stephens, Ross Nays: None Abstention: McDowell Approved: 8-0-1 Citizen Comments None New Business The following Adopt -An -Area new agreements were reviewed: The Smith Family. A motion was made to approve all reviewed Adopt -An -Area agreements. Motion: McDowell, Member Second: Light, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Guthrie, Stephens, Ross Nays: None Abstention: McDowell Approved: 8-0-1 The following Adopt -An -Area renewal agreements were reviewed: Grapevine Rotary Club, The Wykes Family, Texas Toyota of Grapevine, The Jordan Family, Sam Pack's Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, and John E. Mayfield (The Parker Family). A motion was made to approve all reviewed Adopt -An -Area agreements. She shared adjustments to logistics and layout changes for the 2025 season. She presented the three main activity zones that will be available and present during Carol of Lights. Brooke Hubbard shared the 2025 New Activities for Carol of Lights. Arianna presented on the Santa Entrance and Lighting Ceremony. Arianna presented on the Merry and Bright Drone show. GCISD Student & Board Liaison Update Grapevine High School Update: — All things homecoming for Grapevine began the first week of October. The game was on the 3rd where the football team played Burleson and the 4th was the homecoming dance with the theme "My Big Fat Greek Hoco". During homecoming this year, the Fillies also celebrated their 50th anniversary. — Cross country became back to back district champions earlier this month, tennis is moving on to the 4th round of playoffs this week, and 16 Choir members advanced to the 2nd round for the Texas All -State Choir. — Grapevine Theatre put on the musical, Matilda this past weekend. — We just had the PSA Tyesterday and for all those taking AP classes, there was a parent information night on the 6th to help understand registering for the test, what the testing days were, and answering any other questions parents may have. — Something fun coming up this month is Red Ribbon week and Goblin day. Goblin day is actually on Halloween this year, and it is a fun day where everyone dresses up in their costumes and there is a pep rally that is followed by different clubs selling treats. 4 Christian shared the Colleyville Heritage High School update on Addison's behalf: - Oct 10 - Football @ Everman The Panthers secured a dominant 40-14 victory on the road. Quarterback Bodey Weaver threw four touchdowns and went 15-for-20 for nearly 200 yards, while the defense opened the night with a first-quarter safety that set the tone. It was one of the team's cleanest, most complete games of the season. - Oct 17 - Pep Rally & Football vs Seguin (Home) Tomorrow marks one of the biggest spirit days of the year. The morning Pep Rally will feature cheer, drill team, and the Panther Band — but the headline is the official return of Buster and Babs, the CHHS mascots, making their first appearance since 2017. Their comeback has been long-awaited and symbolizes a huge moment for Panther pride, energy, and student unity. The Seguin home game that night will continue the excitement, as the Panthers look to gain ground in district standings and push toward playoff contention. - Oct 24 - Panthers go up against Mansfield Summit and on Oct 31- Senior Night vs Burleson The final home game of the regular season will honor senior athletes, band members, cheerleaders, and spirit leaders before kickoff — a proud send-off for the Class of 2026. - Cross Country - District 6-5A Championships (Oct 9) Both the boys' and girls' teams placed near the top of district standings and advanced to the Region I Meet in Lubbock, continuing CHHS's tradition of strong regional performances. - Tennis Playoffs (Oct 6-14) CHHS earned back-to-back wins over Granbury and Burleson, advancing to the Regional Quarterfinals before falling just short to Argyle 10-8. It was one of the program's best postseason runs in years, highlighting the depth of both singles and doubles play. Fine Arts - Oct 14 - UIL Region 31 Marching Contest The Panther Band earned straight Superior (1-1-1) ratings and advanced to Area. Judges commended their precision, energy, and musical balance. - Oct 17-18 - Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Representing GCISD on a national stage, the band performed their show Metamorphosis inside The Dome at America's Center to outstanding audience feedback and national recognition. - Oct 2-4 - Theatre Fall Play Clue The CHHS Theatre Department kicked off its season with a three -night run of Clue that drew full houses. The production was praised for sharp comedic timing, strong ensemble chemistry, and impressive technical design — a lively and professional start to their theatre year Campus Life & Clubs - Oct 3 - PTSA Senior Cookout Hosted by PTSA on the practice field, the event celebrated the Class of 2026 with food, music, games, and a photo booth. It served as both a kickoff for senior year celebrations and the launch of Project Graduation fundraising. - Oct 16 - NHS "Panthers Give Back" Service Drive NHS collected non -perishables and household items for the Grapevine Relief and Community 3 Exchange Center, encouraging students to lead through service. — Oct 17 — Best Buddies Fort Worth Zoo Trip Buddy pairs spent the day together at the For` Worth Zoo, marking one of the club's most meaningful inclusion events of the year. The trip allowed new and returning members to build friendships, promote awareness, and celebrate what inclusion truly looks like at CHHS. Throughout October — DECA prepared projects for district competition, while Student Council continued campus -wide planning for fall service events and "Thanks & Giving Week." Kathy Spradley shared the following update: — GHS tennis was down 9-7 in regional semifinals cs Amarillo tacosa this afternoon and brought it out to win 10-9. Exciting day for Mustang tennis! — Both CHHS and GHS marching bands got straight ones at UIL region this Tuesday and will advance to area Nov 1st. — Walk of Honor inductions will be held during the rivalry game. o Walt Milner o Joe Duepree — Kathy shared the numerous recognitions GCISD received from niche.com. Citv Council Chris Coy shared that they had a short City Council meeting last week because it was also National Night Out; 35 Neighborhoods that participated in that event. There has been an update to the landscape ordinance for people who want to use alternatives to traditional grass. These expectations will continue to need to be well defined and manageable with code enforcement. Parks and Recreation Updates Chris Smith shared about the Master Plan mail out; they have received 283 responses. They will be using social media and mailing to get the additional number needed. The REC expansion timeline is being discussed at the upcoming City Council meeting. This will be a 12-14 month process to get the design contracts going. Kathy Nelson will present Phase 2 of Settlers Park and ready to move forward with contract drawings into next phase. Funds through Texas Wildlife have already been secured. There were 850 people that attend Sunset Live! each night and the VIP area was sold out both nights. Enchanted Waters at The REC, is scheduled for Friday October 17. This is the last weekend for PumpkinFest at Meadowmere. Trent Kelley shared that we have started replacing machines at The REC. We picked 7 of the most popular and moved them into Studio B. We have traded out 1/3 of the cardio equipment. 2nd half of fitness machines will be coming in, trading in after 10 years. Work is being completed at Austin Oaks Park, Pickering Park, and Banyan Park; replacing equipment, drainage, and making areas ADA compliant. Creating sensory room at The REC. Casey's Clubhouse is getting a surface covering replacement. Police surveillance for vandalism is being installed temporarily Casey's Clubhouse. Spooky Soiree at The REC hosting by the Grapevine Young Professionals is scheduled for tomorrow as well. 4 Adiourn Christian Ross adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
