SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF AN ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION FOR NEWSBANK
SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of an annual subscription for services
with NewsBank, Inc. for the Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Library) for an amount not to
exceed $27,661.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
consolidated current and archived information from thousands of
newspapers and other publications for the Library. The NewsBank, Inc.
company has been a premier information provider for more than forty-five
years and provides excellent customer service which meets the diverse
needs of public library customers.
This procurement will be made in accordance with Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (B)
(E), library materials.
Library Director recommends approval.
