The following bills were read allowed and ordered paid 1317 WA Starling Street work 2 days team 2 days single hand 12.00 1318 WJ Jones Trash hauling 3 days team extra team 1 day 11.00 1319 Huber Lipscomb 1 1/2 day work single hand 3.75 1320 JD Lipscomb 1 1/2 days work with team 7.50 1321 Donation to fire department on repairing building by motion duly seconded 10.00 1322 Donation to Local Charity Fund on motion, duly seconded 25.00 The City Election was ordered for Tuesday, April 1, 1924 for the purpose of electing Mayor, 5 City Alderman, and City Marshall for a term of one year. HF Saunders was appointed election judge. No further business motion carried to adjourn. DD Wall Mayor HC Yancey City Secretary Petition of Mrs. Eunice Lucas and 36 others asking the City to pass a chicken ordinance was read and passed over for further investigation. The returns of the city election was canvassed and the following votes were cast. For Mayor EE Love 109 W Nash 1 For Alderman JA Spinks 109 JW Harrison 110 Earl Yates 110 LD Kirkpatrick 110 HC Yancey 110 For City Marshall JS Daniels 87 WE Harmon 22 The mayor declared that above were elected as follows EE Lowe, Mayor; JA Spinks, JW Harrison, Earl Yates, LD Kirkpatrick and HC Yancey, Alderman and JS Daniels, City Marshall.
