SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF DEDICATED LIGHTING FOR BARK PARK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of dedicated lighting for
Bark Park paddocks from Voss Lighting for the Parks and Recreation
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Project Open Space Fund for an
estimated amount of $26,650.
BACKGROUND: Currently lighting is contained in the parking lot within Bark Park. The
requested purchase will provide dedicated lighting to enhance Bark Park
paddocks, allowing for safer and more functional use during the early
evening hours. The hours of operation will not change.
This purchase will be made in accordance with existing and interlocal
agreements with Omnia Partners Public Sector, Region VIII Education
Service Center in Texas as allowed by Texas Local Government Code,
Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Section 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative, and a contract was awarded Voss
Lighting. The Parks and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for
departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that
the contract would provide the best service and pricing for meeting the
needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
