SUBJECT: RENEWAL FOR LICENSING, HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
MAINTENENACE FOR NUTANIX INFRASTRUCTURE PLATFORM
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the renewal of licensing, hardware
and software maintenance for Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure platform from
Waypoint for the IT Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (IT Department) for an estimated
amount of $284,954.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the renewal of hardware and software maintenance,
as well as licensing, for all Nutanix equipment located in both the City's
datacenter and the disaster recovery site. The Nutanix infrastructure
supports hardware, storage, and host operating systems that power the
virtual environments.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with Region VIII Education Service Center known as The
Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative, and a contract was awarded to
Waypoint. The IT Department and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract
for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that
the contract would provide the best product and pricing for meeting the
needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
