SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF ANNUAL CONTRACTS FOR CITY PAINTING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the renewal of annual contracts for
painting services with Ware Painting as the primary vendor and Artistic
Painting Company as the secondary vendor for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in multiple funds for an estimated amount of
$236,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this bid was to establish fixed annual pricing for qualified
contractors for general painting services on an as -needed basis for the
City of Grapevine.
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The contract
was for an initial one-year period, with nine one-year renewal options
available. If approved, this will be for the third renewal available.
Based on the evaluation of the bid by the Public Works Department and
Purchasing, it was determined a primary contract be awarded to Ware
Painting and a secondary contract be awarded to Artistic Painting
Company based on the overall best value to the City meeting all
requirements of the bid specifications.
Staff recommends approval.
