I have reviewed the submitted access control plan and associated documents for the proposed
system installation at the above captioned location. The submitted plan was reviewed for
general compliance with the 2021 International Fire Code as adopted in Local Ordinance 2024-
037 as adopted by the City of Grapevine. ° L,-,

1. This plan review letter does not constitute a permit issuance by the Grapevine Fire
Department. The release for commencement of field installation is not under the
authority of Traditions Fire Consulting LLC. Once your plans are approved you will need
to obtain a permit from the Grapevine Fire Department.
2. The comments included in this plan review letter do not replace, nor supersede any
codes and/or ordinances adopted by the City of Grapevine, or determinations and
interpretations of the Grapevine Fire Marshal.
3. This review was for the installation of access control on nine doors on Level 2, Area A of
the women's renovation. The doors will be equipped with a card reader, request to exit
sensor, and an electric strike. Free egress will be maintained at all times.
4. The door hardware shall be capable of being operated with one hand and shall comply
with IFC Section 1010.2.1.
5. Sensor release — The sensor shall be installed on the egress side, arranged to detect an
occupant approaching the doors and shall cause the electric locking system to unlock.

6. Activation of the budding fire alarm system or fire sprinkler systems shall automatically
unlock the electric lock, and the lock shall remain unlocked until the fire alarm system
had been reset. 2021 IFC Section 1010.2.12 (5)(6)

7. The locking system units shall be listed in accordance with UL 294.
8. A master key card shall be provided in the Knox key box. This will be field verified.
Plans approved by Traditions Fire Consulting LLC does not release the contractor or property
owner from the responsibility of full compliance with all applicable codes, statutes, and
ordinances relating to the construction project. Final approval is subject to field verification of
the installation per the approved plans, contract specifications, and comments forwarded.
