Call to Order II. Invocation III. Approve the November 20, 2025 meeting minutes IV. Citizen Comments Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, CHAPTER 551.001 et seq, ACTS OF THE 1993 TEXAS LEGISLATURE, THE BOARD MEETING AGENDA, WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS 9th DAY OF JANUARY AT 5:00 P.M. ____________________________ Chris Smith, Director of Parks & Recreation 1 CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met January 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell House located in the Grapevine Botanical Gardens, 411 Ball Street, with the following members present, to-wit: MEMBERS: ABSENT: Lavon Light Brynley Inglis – GHS Student Liaison Roy Robertson Robyn Readicker Rob Fenton Jake Copeland Martin Guthrie Kerri Stephens Christian Ross Kelly McDowell LIAISONS: Chris Coy – City Council Kathy Spradley, GCISD School Board Liaison Addison Gormley – CHHS Student Liaison Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff: Chris Smith, Director Trent Kelley, Deputy Director Megan Holladay, Administrative Manager Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. A prayer and moment of silence led by Christian Ross. Approval of Minutes A motion was made to approve the November 20, 2025 meeting minutes. Motion: Fenton, Member Second: Readicker, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Guthrie, Stephens, Ross, McDowell Nays: 0 Abstention: 0 Approved: 9-0-0 Citizen Comments None New Business The following Adopt-An-Area renewal agreements were reviewed: Slechta Family, Grapevine Lions Club, Grapevine Sister Cities Program, Bev Martin, Ambleside – Jeff & Cherie Bennett, Christian Brothers Automotive Grapevine. A motion was made to approve the reviewed Adopt-An-Area agreements. Motion: Light, Member 2 Second: Stephens, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Guthrie, Stephens, Ross, McDowell Nays: 0 Abstention: 0 Approved: 9-0-0 Presentation Chris Smith shared that Eden Hernandez was recognized as our Employee of the Year. He shared that Jennifer Kashner and team will be recognized for their actions during a medical emergency within The REC. Chris shared our 2025 Parks and Recreation Recap video. GCISD Student & Board Liaison Update Addison was in attendance and provided an update for CHHS and shared the highlights for December and January. Brynley was unable to attend the meeting. Christian provided an update for GHS that she emailed in advance. Kathy was in attendance and provided an update for GCISD. She shared that Dove Elementary and Bransford will be closing for the next school year, Dr Schnawtz has officially resigned, and we currently have an interim Superintendent and Athletic Director. The CFO is also retiring at the end of January. City Council Chris Coy was in attendance and provided an update for the city. He shared praise of CCOT, that Minnow Loop changes were approved in December, and that a water line was repaired. Parks and Recreation Updates Chris Smith provided a Parks and Recreation update. He explained the repairs being done at Heritage Park and provided a brief update on CCOT and that more information was to come. Trent Kelley provided an additional update for Parks and Recreation. He shared information about upcoming events within the department. Adjourn Christian Ross adjourned the meeting at 6:58PM. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
