SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF ANNUAL FASTER SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL FOR
FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of fleet services
maintenance software annual subscription renewal from Faster Asset
Solutions for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Public Works Fleet) for an
amount not to exceed $24,453.
BACKGROUND: The Fleet Services maintenance software system (Faster Asset Solutions,
Faster) is up for subscription renewal for web-based hosting. This renewal
is recommended for the fleet maintenance system to maintain customer
support from the supplier. Fleet maintenance software ensures that all
staff and end users retain fluid continuity to receive, access, and
communicate from many different devices. The access and support of
Faster improves the staff's efficiency in addressing fleet repair requests
and accessing information about the fleet.
The purchase of an annual renewal of Faster software will be made as a
sole source purchase from Faster Asset Solutions in accordance with
Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, §252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A).
Staff recommends approval.
