SUBJECT: ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SUPPLIES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for an annual contract for
emergency medical supplies with Bound Tree Medical, LLC for Public
Safety.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire and Police Departments),
CCPD Fund and the Special Revenue Fund (Opioid Settlements) for an
estimated annual amount of$125,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
emergency medical supplies on an as-needed basis for the Fire
Department to equip five mobile intensive care units.
Purchases will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the City of Midlothian, Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791.
Bids were received by The City of Midlothian, Texas for emergency
medical supplies with Bound Tree Medical, LLC. The pricing received from
Bound Tree Medical, LLC is fair and reasonable. The contract is for an
initial three-year period with two one-year optional renewals. The Fire
Department and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for specification
compliance and determined that this annual contract would provide the
best product, service and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
