SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A MID-YEAR APPOINTMENT TO FULFILL THE
VACANCY TO THE POSITION FOR THE CITY HEALTH OFFICER
RECOMMENDATION: Consider the mid-year appointment to fulfill the vacancy of the position of
City Health Officer.
FUNDING SOURCE:
BACKGROUND: Each year, City Council appoints members to the various boards and
commissions. One position that is appointed every two-years, as directed
by the City Charter, is the position of City Health Officer. This position has
been vacant since 2024 due to a lack of qualified applicants.
Dr. William Drake has submitted an application to fulfill this vacant
position. The position will be due for reappointment when Council makes
their annual appointments this summer.
