SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF SPARE TRAFFIC DETECTION SYSTEM
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a spare traffic
detection system from CUBIC ITS Inc. for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Permanent Capital Maintenance Fund (Traffic)
in an amount not to exceed $18,470.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a spare Gridsmart traffic detection system from
CUBIC ITS Inc.
This purchase will be made as a sole source purchase from CUBIC ITS
Inc. in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, §252.022. General Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Items that are available from
only one source because of patents, copyrights or secret processes.
Staff recommends approval.
