FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: MARCH 17, 2026
SUBJECT: PURCHASE FOR REPAIRING MUSCO LIGHING CONTROLS AT
HERITAGE PARK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the repair and relocation of the
Musco lighting control system at Heritage Park from NEMA3 Electric, Inc.
for the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Parks) in an amount not to

BACKGROUND: On January 1, 2026, a vehicle struck and destroyed the Musco Lighting

control system and the relocation of the control cabinet to a safer area
within the park to reduce the likelihood of future vehicular impact. The City
has received $40,000 in insurance proceeds from the responsible party's
insurance carrier to offset a portion of the repair and relocation costs.

Electric, Inc. in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252,
Subchapter B, §252.022. General Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Items that are
available from only one source because of patents, copyrights or secret
processes. NEMA3 Electric, Inc. is the documented authorized contractor
