SUBJECT: PURCHASE FOR PEACH WATER TOWER ELEVATOR UPGRADE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of Peach Tower
elevator upgrade from TK Elevator Corporation for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Permanent Capital/Street Maintenance Fund
for an estimated amount of $119,975.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to upgrade the Peach Tower elevator. This elevator and
its components are now obsolete and need to be upgraded to ensure
continuous operation of the elevator. This elevator serves the record
storage in the tower used primarily by the City Secretary's Office.
This purchase will be made in accordance with existing and interlocal
agreements with Omnia Partners Public Sector, Region VIII Education
Service Center in Texas, as allowed by Texas Local Government Code,
Section 271, and Texas Government Code, Section 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative, and a contract was awarded TK
Elevator Corporation. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best service and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
