FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Lake Enterprise (Golf) Fund in an amount not to exceed $518,750. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the golf course greens resurfacing of Bluebonnet 9 and the older putting green located by Bluebonnet 1 tee box. This purchase would also include extra work on the Bluebonnet 9 golf course, including contour work on Bluebonnet hole 2, right of the cart path, and Bluebonnet hole 3, left of the cart path, removing the first bunker on right of Bluebonnet hole 7, adding a bunker on Bluebonnet hole 7 and hole 9, and sod work throughout the Bluebonnet golf course. The greens have not been resurfaced since Bluebonnet was built in 1998. The lifespan for TifEagle Bermuda grass greens, which Grapevine Golf Course currently has and will continue to have, should be 20 years to remain healthy. The resurfacing process will take 4-5 months from killing the greens, removing the organic matter 6 inches deep, replacing the sand layer that was removed then sprigging the greens and finally the grow in process (watering, fertilizing). This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy Board) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative, and a contract was awarded to Greenscapes Six, LLC. The Golf and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
