GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR TNE CITY MANAGERS' DESIGNEE TQ APPRC}VE A
SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR FIBER INTERNET
ACGESS ANQ DIGITAL PRQTECTION SYSTEM ANQ
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a lacal government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by Texas Local Government Code �hapter 252,
Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a) (7) (A) ta contract for fiber internet
access and a digital protection system on a sole source basis; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has a need for fiber internet access far
the Public Safety Building; and
WHEREAS, Spectrum Enterprise is the anly vendor that can provide these
redundancy services; and
WHEREAS, all constitutional and statutory prerequisites for the approval of this
resolution have been met, including but not limited to the Open Meetings Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the adoption of this resolution to be in the best
in#eres#s of the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
NOW, THEREF4RE, BE IT RESC}�VED BY THE CITY COUNCI� OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated hereinabove are found to be true and correct
and are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the Ci#y of Grapevine authorizes an annual
contract far fiber internet access and a digital protection system with Spectrum
Enterprise far an amount not to exceed $33,218.00.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to take all steps
necessary to contract for said services.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date af its
passage.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of February, 2017.
