SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR VETERINARY MEDICAL
CARE SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of annual contract for veterinary
medical care services with Relief Services for Veterinary Practices
(RSVP) for the Police Department, Animal Services Division.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Police Department, Animal
Services Division)for an amount not to exceed $240,000.00.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is a renewal of the annual contract for veterinary medical
care services with Relief Services for Veterinary Practices (RSVP) for the
Police Department, Animal Services Division. The contract with RSVP
allows for the sterilization, vaccination, testing, examinations, procedures,
medications, grooming, and other surgical services for animals managed
through the Animal Shelter. Relief Services for Veterinary Practices
(RSVP) is based in Denton, Texas.
This procurement of veterinary medical care of the shelter animals for
sterilization, vaccination, testing, examinations, procedures, medication,
grooming, and other surgical services will be made as a professional
service purchase from RSVP in accordance with Local Government Code
Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (a) (4).
Additional annual renewals will be based on veterinary medical care
performance of the vendor.
