SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR ANEW A/C FOR OAK GROVE PARK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for an HVAC for Oak Grove Park from DX Mechanical for the Public
Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Permanent Capital/Street Maintenance Fund
(Parks) for an amount not to exceed $22,416.
BACKGROUND: This is for the purchase of a 5-ton condenser unit with one 3-ton air
handler and one 2-ton air handler unit. This includes all associated wiring,
hardware, and ducting. This will be replacing the current HVAC system we
have in place that has reached end of life.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$100,000 per SB 1173, effective September 1, 2025. Three quotes were
submitted as noted below. DX Mechanical submitted the lowest quote
meeting specifications.
DX Mechanical $22,416.
Southland Ind. $29,346.
Gentry Air$42,125.
Staff recommends approval.
