In accordance with the requirements of Texas Senate Bill 1202 , effective September 1, 2025,
this letter serves as formal confirmation that Texas Power Inspections has conducted a
thorough review of the permit application and associated documentation submitted for the
following system:

After thorough review, our licensed inspection agency has verified that the submitted plans and
application documents are in compliance with the codes adopted by the city at the time of
review , including but not limited to the International Codes (I-Codes), the National Electrical
Code (NEC), and all other relevant standards that were applied in the design of this system.
Based on this review, Texas Power Inspections hereby issues this Letter of Compliance
approving the application for submission to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
This approval is issued pursuant to the authority granted under SB 1202 and is intended to
support the permitting process for contractors and applicants.

The following references the Matthew Cenatus Residence in Grapevine, TX:
1. Existing roof framing:
Conventional framing is 2x6 at 24”o.c. with a 10’ span or 2x6 pre-fabricated/engineered wood
truss at 24”o.c. This existing structure is capable to support all the loads that are indicated below
for this photovoltaic project.
2. Roof Loading:
- 2.3psf dead load (modules plus mounting hardware)
- 5psf ground snow load
- 5.7psf roof materials (1.7psf 2x6, 1.5psf sheathing, 2.5psf asphalt shingles)
- Exposure Category C, 115mph wind (3 sec.)
- Risk Category II
This installation design will be in general conformance to the manufacturer’s specifications, and complies
with all applicable laws, codes, and ordinances, including the 2020 NEC, 2021 IFC, 2021 IRC, specifically
section R324, and the 2021 IBC (gravity loads are increased by less than 5% in areas of solar panel
installation).

THE SERVICE ENTRANCE. IF EXISTING SYSTEM IS INACCESSIBLE, OR INADEQUATE, OR IS ONLY METALLIC WATER PIPING, A SUPPLEMENTAL GROUNDING ELECTRODE WILL BE USED AT THE INVERTER LOCATION CONSISTING OF A UL

PROPER ACCESS AND WORKING CLEARANCE AROUND EXISTING AND PROPOSED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED

1205.2.1.1 Pathways to ridge. Not
fewer than two 36-inch-wide (914
mm) pathways on separate roof
planes, from lowest roof edge to
ridge, shall be provided on all
buildings. Not fewer than one
pathway shall be pro-vided on the
street or driveway side of the roof.
For each roof plane with a
photovoltaic array, not fewer than
one 36-inch-wide (914 mm) pathway
from lowest roof edge to ridge shall
be provided on the same roof plane
as the photovoltaic array, on an
adjacent roof plane or straddling the
same and adjacent roof planes.
1205.2.1.2 Setbacks at ridge. For
photovoltaic arrays occupying 33
percent or less of the plan view
total roof area, a setback of not
less than 18 inches (457 mm)
wide is required on both sides of
a horizontal ridge. For photovoltaic
arrays occupying more than 33
percent of the plan view total roof
area, a setback of not less than 36
inches (457 mm) wide is required on
both sides of a horizontal ridge.
1205.2.1.3 Alternative setbacks at
ridge. Where an automatic sprinkler
system is installed 903.3.1.3,
set-backs at the ridge shall conform
to one of the following:
1. For photovoltaic arrays occupying 66
percent or less of the plan view total roof
area, a setback of not less than 18 inches
(457 mm) wide is required on both sides of a
horizontal ridge.
2. For photovoltaic arrays occupying
more than 66 percent of the plan view total
roof area, a setback of not less than 36
inches (914 mm) wide is required on both
sides of a horizontal ridge.
