SUBJECT: ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT,
IRRIGATION PARTS, SUPPLES, AND INSTALLATIONS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for renewal of an annual contract for
grounds maintenance equipment, irrigation parts, supplies, and
installations from Longhorn, Inc. for City of Grapevine Departments.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (various departments), the Lake
Parks Fund, the Utility Enterprise Fund, and the Permanent Capital
Maintenance Fund (Parks) for an annual estimated budgeted amount of
$25,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
grounds maintenance equipment, irrigation parts, supplies, and
installations.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy
Board) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271, and
Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. The contract is for an initial one-
year period with two optional renewals available.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative, and a contract was awarded
Longhorn, Inc. City Departments and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best service and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
