SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT PUMP FOR SILVERLAKE 1 LIFT
STATION
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a replacement pump
for Silverlake 1 Lift Station from Xylem Water Solutions for the Public
Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $17,683.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the replacement of a pump that has shown signs of
deterioration during the last two predictive electrical tests, indicating
increased risk of failure due to age and normal wear and tear.
These procurements will be made as a sole source in accordance with
Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Xylem Water Solutions is the sole source provider
for these types of water and wastewater products and parts.
