SUBJECT: NORTHEAST FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION (NEFDA)
MEMBERSHIP DUES RENEWAL
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of annual membership dues from
Northeast Fire Department Association (NEFDA) for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire Dept.) for an annual
estimated amount of$59,989.
BACKGROUND: The Fire Department has a membership with Northeast Fire Department
Association (NEFDA) is comprised of 14 local northeast Texas cities. The
departments share resources in various disciplines and provide mutual aid
services to member cities as needed. This membership covers the annual
dues and capital replacement dues for equipment and apparatus.
This procurement will be made as a sole source purchase in accordance
with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252. 022.
General Exemptions (a) (7) (A). Items or services that are available from
only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or
natural monopolies.
Staff recommends approval.
