be framed in with 2x4 to give it a neat appearance.

This letter confirms on May 27, 2026 the Historic Preservation Commission approved
with conditions #CA26-30 for the property addressed 204 East Franklin Street, legally
described as Block 16, Lot 1 R, City of Grapevine to the Grapevine Historic Preservation
Ordinance 91-73 (Appendix G — Grapevine Code of Ordinances), as amended, for the
following:
1. Construct a permanent art installation. "Wall of Military Gratitude."
2. Build four double sided 3'x5' panels, each onto 4x4 wood posts set into the
ground 3' apart and cover with handmade painted ceramic tiles made by the
public to honor our nation's military.
As per the submitted application and photos with the conditions that a color for the
wood components (paint or stain) is submitted under a separate CA and that a
Permit is obtained from the City of Grapevine Building Department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a
building permit : is / is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building
Department at 817.410.3165 for fees and information regarding permits.

PAT Wall of Military Gratitude
Placement
Our first choice for placement will be along the edge of our property facing the Main St
Parking Lot. This will give us a conversation piece to encourage visitors and the City a new
public art display. Our second choice would be parallel to our fence in the back.
Construction
We will secure for each section with a 4x4 post in the ground that will be approximately 5'
tall. Between the posts will be a 3' x 5' section of waterproof wallboard for holding tiles
going horizontally. Each section will hold roughly 88 tiles. We will leave a 2-3' gap between
sections. Currently we will need four sections to accommodate the tiles that we have at
present. We would like to have a section or two for future expansion.
If possible
We would like to put a wood frame around the tiles. On the top going from one to the next
we would like to put "Wall of Military Gratitude" "IPAT Museum of Porcelain Art" "America
