SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF CENTRALIZED MANAGEMENT UTILITY SOFTWARE
FOR THE GRAPEVINE PUBLIC LIBRARY
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for the purchase of a centralized
management utility software with Lyngsoe Systems for the Grapevine
Public Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Projects Fund for an amount not to
exceed $28,475.
BACKGROUND: The Grapevine Public Library will use centralized management utility
software and hardware to include three self -checkout systems and a
counter to track the number of visitors to the Library.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(E). Lyngsoe Systems is the documented sole source
support services provider for the books, papers, and other library
materials for a public library that are available only from the persons
holding exclusive distribution rights to the materials.
Staff recommends approval.
