MATERIALS
t. Prestressing steel supplied by SUNCOA1" POSTE NSON shall be 1112" diameter 2701<51,
seven wire strand, grease with plastic sheathing. Strand shall be in accordance. with
A.S.T.M.. A416 and shall be anchored at 28,9kOps.
2, Ali anchorage hardwareshall meet tet criteria i_,,stablished by the "PTI GuideSpecifical ions
for Post Tensioning Materials."
3. Ail concrete shallhave a minir-num compressive strength of 2WW1 p.s.i, at 28 days. Strands
shall not be stressed to final r_-quiredforced unfil concrete strength 'is 8:''&'"@:nufm o820010,
4. Ail conventional reinforcing shall be interme6ate gra,.Je ancj shall conform A Sj M

CONSTRUCT ION
1. Ail beams must ex1end-6" into undisturbed soil ,,)r Lpruperly corripacted fill Beam depths
I I I
may be sloped or increased to a maxialum of 24" withoul, additionalreinforcing to meet the
undisilurbed soil requirements,
2. All fill must e compacted to 95% ofstandardproctor density A.S.T.M.-D698 and conform
to FHA sheet 79G.
3. Partial piering of foundations is not permitted, If pier design is required, it should be
brought tothe attention of SUNCOAST POSTENSION prior to sl -d: of construction.
4. All final grading shall be done using sand or a non -capillary material,
5. Bite grading and drainage round the foundation shall be maintainedat all tifiries in such a
manner that surface or OFOUnd water wit! not collect under or adi,
jacent to the slab,
Contractor is responsible 'r.) advise homeowner of proper foundation maintenance,
Moisture content should be kept consistent and proper drainage away from slab is
, re
quired.
6. Trenches for deep plum bing lines should riot b-9 located directly under beams.
7, If plastic sleave is damaged and the strand is exposed for more than 6 in,, it should be
repaired to prevent bonding of concrete to tendon -12 exploged at dead end is acceptable -
Concrete must be well consolidated around all aarichors to avoid bearing failures at
stressing.
9. Admixtures should not contain any chemicals in quantity that may have harmful effecl or,
the prestresssing steel w, cernent. Chiorides, sulphiltas and nitrates should not be used.
M Stressing pockets should be grouted within 7 days of the final stressing oepration to
prevent corrosion of the anchor and wedge assorribly,
DESIGN
1, The post tension of this foundation structure has been evaluated using acceptable
engineering practice in accordance with the latest recommendal ions as set forth by the
Post Tensioning institute in their publication Design and Construction of Post Tensioned
Slabs on Ground, First Edition, 1980.
