SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF RUGGED GETAC LAPTOPS FOR EMS REPORTING
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of a sole source purchase of rugged
laptops for EMS reporting from Brite for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire Department 100-44540-
250-253-000000) for an amount not to exceed $18,146.25.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for three new Getac V120 Fully Rugged Convertible
Laptops to replace existing Toughbook Laptops nearing the end of life.
The new tablets have improved processing power and better battery life.
Updating these devices ensures that first responders can efficiently
document incidents and access vital information. As a result, the
department expects to enhance overall operational efficiency and ensure
we can meet the increasing demands of modern emergency medical
response.
The cost includes a bumper -to -bumper extended warranty, chargers, and
60-month Absolute Resilience, which complies with HIPPA requirements
by allowing remote access to disable the device in cases of theft or loss.
