SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT PUMP FOR TRAIN 3 AT
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a replacement pump
at the Wastewater Treatment Plant from Xylem Water Solutions for the
Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $19,655.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a replacement return activated sludge pump that has
failed and must be replaced on treatment train 3. This is a sole source
purchase to replace the pump with similar equipment that is already in use
within the wastewater treatment plant.
These procurements will be made as a sole source in accordance with
Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A). Xylem Water Solutions is the sole source provider
for these types of water and wastewater products and parts.
