SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF A 2026 FORD F150 RESPONDER FOR
REPLACEMENT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a 2026 Ford F150
Responder for replacement from Silsbee Ford, Inc. for the Police
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Equipment Fund for a total amount not
to exceed $55,622.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for one 2026 Ford F150 Responder for the Police
Department to replace a total loss of damaged unit # 94613. The City will
receive approximately $32,000 in insurance proceeds to support the
replacement.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the Region VIII Education Service Center known as The
Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) in Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter
791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and contracts were awarded to
Silsbee Ford. The Police, Fleet Services, and Purchasing staff reviewed
the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing
meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
