SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR PURCHASE OF POLICE VEHICLE
EQUIPMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider an award to purchase police vehicle equipment from Wildfire
Truck & Equipment Sales, Ltd.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this purchase are available in account 325-48910-209-01-170001-0 and 325-
48910-209-02-170001-0 (Motor Vehicles) in an amount not to exceed $18,078.47.
BACKGROUND:
Purchase of lightbars and police equipment to up-fit three new police Tahoes purchased
in the FY2017 Replacement Schedule. The equipment consists of prisoner seats,
partitions, panels, consoles, emergency lighting, etc.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids and
advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three vendors submitted
quotations. Wildfire Truck & Equipment Sales, Ltd. submitted the lowest responsive and
responsible quote meeting specifications.

Main Street Installers $18,780.16
Staff recommends approval.
