SUBJECT: PURCHASE AND REPAIR OF ICE MACHINES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of a contract for the purchase and repair
of ice machines from Trimark USA, LLC for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Public Works) for an amount not
to exceed $40,000.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for ice machine purchases and repairs for citywide
facilities.
This purchase will be made in accordance with existing and interlocal
agreements with Sourcewell as allowed by Texas Local Government
Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Section 791. The
contract is for an initial four-year period with 3 one-year optional available
renewals.
Bids were taken by the cooperative, and a contract was awarded to
Trimark USA, LLC. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for specification compliance and pricing and determined that the
contract would provide the best service and pricing for meeting the needs
of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
