A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. A moment of silence and prayer led by Lavon Light. Approval of inutes A motion was made to approve the March 19, 2026 meeting minutes. Motion: Readicker, Member Second: Copeland, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Stephens, McDowell Nays: 0 Abstention: 2 Approved: 7-0-2 Citizen Comments None. New Business None. 1 Presentation Arianna Such provided a presentation on Wall -Farrar Nature Trail Planting. Claire Gilbert provided a presentation on Website Accessibility. GCISD Student & Board Liaison Update Brynley Inglis provided an update from Grapevine High School. Addison Ghomley provided an update from Colleyville Heritage High School. Kathy Spradley provided an update from Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. City Council Chris Coy provided an update from City Council. Parks and Recreation Updates Chris Smith provided an update from Parks and Recreation. He shared how we are moving forward with The REC expansion and the next phase of development for Settlers Park. Brews and Paws will be hosted at Hop and Sting on Saturday, April 18. April 25 is our Earth Day Celebration at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. Mother/Daughter Tea Party on May 9. Trent Kelley provided an update from Parks and Recreation. He shared an update on the partnership regarding eBikes with Grapevine PD. He shared that we are in the final stages at the Minnow Loop parking lot. He shared the success of Membership Appreciation Day. We had 1,000 surveys completed. He shared that the painting has begun in the sensory room at The REC and should be done next week. He shared that the Intentional Pollinator Program (IPP) will be presenting to council within the next few months. Confirm MayMeetinq Date It was discussed that that May meeting, scheduled for Thursday, May 21 is the last day of school for GCISD and graduation. A motion was made to cancel the May 21, 2026 meeting: Motion: McDowell, Member Second: Readicker, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Copeland, Stephens, McDowell Nays: 0 Abstention: 2 Approved: 7-0-2 Adjourn Lavon Light adjourned the meeting at 6:46PM. 2 A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
