A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. A moment of silence and prayer led by Christian Ross. Approval of inutes A motion was made to approve the April 16, 2026 meeting minutes. Motion: Robertson, Member Second: Readicker, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Ross, Stephens Nays: 0 Abstention: 2 Approved: 6-0-2 Citizen Comments None. New Business The following new Adopt -An - ea agreements were reviewed: The arlins. motion was made to 1 approve the reviewed Adopt -An -Area agreements. Motion: Robertson, Member Second: Light, Member Ayes: Light, Robertson, Readicker, Fenton, Ross, Stephens Nays: 0 Abstention: 2 Approved: 6-0-2 Presentation Randy Sell, Assistant Director Parks Operations provided an update on July 4th in Grapevine. GCISD Student & Board Liaison Update Brynley Inglis provided an update from Grapevine High School. Addison Ghomley provided an update from Colleyville Heritage High School. An update on GCISD was provided by Christian Ross on behalf of Kathy Spradley Kathy Spradley had emailed her update to Megan Holladay prior to the meeting. City Council Chris Coy provided an update from City Council. Parks and Recreation Updates Trent Kelley provided an update from Parks and Recreation. He shared information on the installation of EBike education signs around the parks. He shared that the Parks and Recreation Department is now in the design development phase for The REC expansion. He shared information about the Youth World Series tournament that was taking place in Grapevine. Chris Smith provided an update from Parks and Recreation. He praised the City of Grapevine and Grapevine Parks and Recreation for their quick action during the City Council meeting in June where City Hall lost power and the meeting was moved to The REC. He shared that there will be a presentation on the Master Plan during the July Parks Advisory Board Meeting. He shared that there will be a 250 year, 4th of July Celebration at Peace Plaza on Saturday, June 27. He shared that he would be retiring from the Parks and Recreation department effective August 7, 2026. Adjourn Christian Ross adjourned the meeting at 6:40PM. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
