The Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Grapevine, Texas, met in
Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Grapevine
Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street,
Grapevine, Texas, with the following members present to wit:
Burl Gilliam Chairman
R. Lee Derr Vice Chairman
Ashley Anderson Commissioner
Vick Cox Commissioner
Sean Shope Commissioner
Margaret Telford Commissioner
Chuck Voelker Alternate
The above Commissioners constituting a quorum with member(s) Ted Ware,
Shane Wilbanks, City Council Liaison and Monica Nance, Planning & Zoning
Liaison absent.
With the following city staff present:

CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME
Chairman Burl Gilliam called the Public Hearing to order at 6:00 p.m.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
No citizen comments
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic
Preservation Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen
Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act,
the Commission is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen
Comments.

WORK SESSION
David Klempin passed around the most recent staff approved Certificates of
Appropriateness for the Commission to review.
A. Approved Certificate of Appropriateness as follows:
#CA14-63 for property located at 129 South Main Street, Suite #155;

#CA14-79 for property located at 404 East Worth Street;
#CA14-81 for property located at 618 East Wall Street;

WORKSHOP
Chairman Gilliam opened the Commissioner's training session and called on the
Historic Preservation Officer, David Klempin, to begin the presentation.
Mr. Klempin noted Grapevine's heritage had been uniquely preserved in its Main
Street and residential historic districts. Grapevine's Historic Preservation
Commission works to see the City's history remains alive in its preserved
buildings and neighborhoods. The City of Grapevine, the Grapevine Historic
Preservation Commission and hundreds of interested Grapevine citizens join the
owners of Grapevine's historic properties dedicated to preserving and revitalizing
an environment that promotes improved property values and enriches the quality
of life for Grapevine's citizens and visitors.
A PowerPoint presentation was shown of homes before their restoration and how
they look today. Discussion followed.
MINUTES
Margaret Telford made the motion to accept the minutes from the December 17,
2014 meeting; Chuck Voelker seconded the motion, which prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: (Gilliam, Derr, Anderson, Cox, Shope, Telford, and Voelker)
Nays: None
Absent: (Ware)

ADJOURNMENT
Chuck Voelker made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Ashley Anderson
seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: (Gilliam, Derr, Anderson, Cox, Shope, Telford and Voelker)
Nays: None
Absent: (Ware)
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
