The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation will be held on May 18, 2016 at 5:00 p.m, in the
Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas.

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation Board of Directors met at 5:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau,
2nd Floor Boardroom, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Curtis Ratliff called the meeting to order at 5 p.m.
II. CITIZEN COMMENTS
There were NO citizen comments.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Historic Preservation
Commission under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In
accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Commission is restricted in discussing or
taking action during Citizen Comments.

III, APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Janet Perkins made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the March 16,
2016 meeting; Sue Franks seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Franks, Jensen, Perkins and Vaughn)
Nays: None
Absent: (Stanfield and Stinson)

IV. OLD BUSINESS
Janet Perkins reported the Foundation currently has 182 active memberships, with 39
renewals billed in March.
Cody Jolliff reported the Nash Farm activities for the month of March with school group
tours and 1,500 attending the Parks Department Easter Egg Hunt for a total of 1,700
attendees for the month and $1,851 in revenue. He reported the Spring Into Nash
event had $6,640 in revenue coupons and sponsorships and a total of $3,000 in
expenses yielding $3,640. Chairman Ratliff thanked Balla Wright for sponsorships
brought in and thanked the board members who had contributed.
NEW BUSINESS
David Klempin reported the nominations received for the Preservation Advocacy
Awards 2016 to be presented by Mayor Tate and Chairman Ratliff at the May 3, 2016
City Council meeting. David presented a power point, for the board's approval of the
nominees and their achievements in preserving Grapevine's heritage:
Advocacy Award — Judy Daniel
Preservation/Conservation Award — Justin Gilmore, AIA
Restoration Project Award —Jonathan Chance, Dignity Memorial
Project Award — Reverend Redmon, Love Chapel Church of God in Christ
Sharing the Vision Award — Russell Kidd
Grapevine Township Award — Neal Cooper, Copper Street Homes

Sue Franks made the motion to accept the nominees as presented; Janet Perkins
seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Franks, Jensen, Perkins and Vaughn)
Nays: None

Sue Franks and Frances Jensen reported on the Speakers Bureau committee's
planning meetings to reach out to other civic and service groups to become members of
the Grapevine Heritage Foundation. The mission of the Foundation and past projects
would give a record of advocacy successes and reach out to the community to place
membership with the Foundation focusing on an active partnership. Balla Wright asked
for the partnership to have available "online contact" interaction without having to come
to a board meeting. Chairman Ratliff thanked Sue and the planning committee for their
work on the program to bring in new members.

Frances Jensen reported on the Foundation's newsletter; and suggested an email blast
after events with photographs be sent to the membership; Farm Manager Cody Jolliff
asked for these activity E-blasts to include Farm sponsors.

VI. LIAISON. REPORTS
Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) March 17, 2016 Meeting —
Balla Wright reported new CVB employees were introduced at the meeting; and the
success of the Chamber's Women's Division with The Great Taste of Grapevine event
raising $18,000.
Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) March 23, 2016 Meeting —
Janet Perkins reported the HPC's approval of the seven new construction homes on
East Wall Street.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
Balla Wright, seconded by Janet Perkins, made the motion to adjourn the meeting at
6:35 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: All (Ratliff, Wright, Franks, Jensen, Perkins and Vaughn)
Nays: None
Absent: (Stanfield and Stinson)
