The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met October 20, 2016 at 6:00
p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administrative Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit:

The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.

Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Krystyna Plut to approve the
September 22, 2016 minutes. Motion passed 8-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico,
Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
Absent — Roy Robertson

There were no citizen comments.
Presentation
Kathy Nelson & Cindy Harris gave a presentation on Keep Grapevine Beautiful (KGVB).
Focus areas discussed were litter prevention, beautification, and waste reduction.
PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken)
Athletics, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Spring baseball registration begins in December, new uniforms are in the works, $24K
in revenue so far for the month of October with tournaments, and a partnership with
Texas Wesleyan University.
Capital Projects, Kathy Nelson reported on the following:
SH 114 landscape enhancements, Wall Farrar Nature Trail, Bear Creek Dog Park, and
the greenhouse.
Lake Parks, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Lakeview North and Meadowmere Lane boat ramps are open. A new floating kayak
dock has been installed at Meadowmere. All RV and cabin sites are live at the
Vineyards Campground. The GrapeYard is this weekend at Oak Grove.
Parks Maintenance, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Christmas decorations are being put up on Main Street.
Recreation, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Early voting starts at The REC on Monday 10/24. For active adults, transportation is
provided to the State Fair, and area agency on aging hosted a Q&A session for
Medicare. The REC hosted a breast cancer awareness event in partnership with
Baylor with 150 residents in attendance.
Volunteerism, Kathy Nelson reported on the following:
Arbor Day on November 5, and the Master Composter Training.

GCISD Report — Jorge Rodriguez gave a presentation on the following:
The stadium & Cannon Elementary are being re -modeled, the multi-purpose activity
centers construction is to begin in 2017, the new Leadership Academy, and the
Colleyville vs. Grapevine volleyball and football games this weekend.
Adjourn
Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting
at 6:51 p.m. Motion passed 8-0.
