Kevin Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met June 16, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administration Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: MEMBERS Ray Harris, Chairman Roy Robertson Larry Francis John Dalri Terry Musar Krystyna Plut Dave Buhr With the following members absent: Debra Tridico Gary Humble LIAISONS Paul Slechta (City Council) With the following liaison absent: Becky St. John (GSISD) Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff: Kevin Mitchell Chris Smith Kathy Nelson The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Director Deputy Director Capital Improvement Projects Manager Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the May 19, 2016 minutes. Motion passed 7-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Absent — Debra Tridico and Gary Humble Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. New Business There was no new business. 1� . Presentation Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Bear Creek Park, McPherson Slough, SH 114 Landscape, Wall -Farrar Trail, Rockledge Park, Kubota Drive, Denton Creek Park, Sunshine Harbor Park, The Vineyards Campground, Oak Grove Park play structure, Katie's Woods Park parking issue, Lake Park picnic shelters, Hazy Meadows Park replacement, shade project at Casey's Clubhouse and Oak Grove Loop, Parr Road widening, and Wall Street/Dove Road triangle. Kathy Nelson reported on the following: Lake Pointe Park, Parr Park monarch habitat, and Wall -Farrar Nature Trail monarch habitat. PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken) Chris Smith reported on the following: TDLR work is being done at The REC to the men and women's locker rooms. The Archery Experience was held at The REC on June 4 with over 300 participants. The inaugural Father/Son Amazing Race was held on June 11 with over 150 participants. The next Fourth Friday Films series will be June 24, showing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The World Series Tournament at Oak Grove Ballfield Complex begins next week with games on June 23-26 & June 30 -July 3. The tournament's opening ceremonies will be on Wednesday, June 22. Miscellaneous Board Items (No action taken) Keep Grapevine Beautiful (KGVB) — Dave Buhr gave a report for KGVB. GCISD Report — Becky St. John was not present. High School Report — The Grapevine High School baseball team won the state championship in Division 5A. Adjourn Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Terry Musar to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 p.m. Motion passed 7-0.
