- During the 28 Jan GHA meeting the Commissioners were updated on the
transition of the voucher program to Tarrant County. The transfer occurred
Jan 1 and the transition has gone very smoothly. The GHA staff ensured
success with lots of orderly paperwork.

- HUD has proposed a rule for Smoke Free Public Housing. The final
revision of the rule will come out after the public comment window has
closed (Jan 19). GHA already has a policy of no-smoking in the units, but
the HUD rule under consideration would be tighter(no smoking on
porches). Asked if REC would offer any classes to help with the smokers?
Depends on the demand; Tena also mentioned HMO offers classes as well.
