Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met April 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administrative Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit: MEMBERS LIAISONS Ray Hams, Chairman Paul Slechta (City Council) Roy Robertson Tatum Tellin (GHS Student) Larry Francis John Dalri Terry Musar Krystyna Plut Debra Tridico Christian Ross Dave Buhr With the following liaison absent: Jorge Rodriguez(GCISD) Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City staff: Kevin Mitchell Director Randy Sell Lake Parks & Events Manager April Rogers Event Production Supervisor Meredith Shirley Community Events Coordinator The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Christian Ross to approve the March 16, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 9-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Citizen Comments One citizen comment was given in regards to the trail system. New Business Consider approval of the following new Adopt-An-Area agreement: 1 • Grapevine Garden Club for Wall Farrar Trail A motion was made by Krystyna Plut and seconded by Terry Musar to approve the new Adopt-An-Area agreement. Motion passed 9-0. Ayes — Ray Hams, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Consider approval of the following renewal Adopt-An-Area agreements: • Gene & Joan Bledsoe for Eastbound Mustang Drive from William D. Tate Avenue to Heritage Avenue • John &Arnie Haras for Snakey Lane A motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the renewal Adopt-An-Area agreements. Motion passed 9-0. Ayes — Ray Hams, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Presentation April Rogers & Meredith Shirley gave a presentation over annual community events. The events discussed were Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son event, Easter Egg Hunt, Mom & Me Tea, Amazing Race, Fourth Friday Films, Sunset Concert Series, GrapeYard and Carol of Lights. PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken) Athletics, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: GBS opening day, YTD tournament revenue, pickleball tournament and the positive coaching alliance. Capital Projects, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Dog Park design, SH 114 Phase ll & Ill, Bessie Mitchell House renovations, synthetic turf at Oak Grove fields, Oak Grove Softball renovation, and The REC staircase. Lake Parks/Events, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: New picnic pad sites, the Vineyards Campground pavilion, Meadowmere Park, and Oak Grove Park playground. Parks Maintenance, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Renovation of Pecan Park. Recreation, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Spraygrounds open May 1, the outdoor pools open May 27, Back to Pools event at The REC on April 29, and the current membership count at The REC. Volunteerism, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Earth Week Experience and the Shady Oak rehabilitation project. 2 Miscellaneous Board Items (No action taken) GCISD Report— No report given. GHS Report—Tatum Tellin reported on the following: National signing day, boys/girls soccer, swimming, wrestling, construction of the new facility, band and baseball. Adjourn Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. Motion passed 9-0.
