The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met January 19, 2017 at 6:00
p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administrative Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way,
Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit:

Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff:

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Terry Musar to approve the
December 15, 2016 minutes. Motion passed 9-0.
Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, Larry Francis, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna
Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.
Nays— None
Citizen Comments
Marty Metzger spoke and gave positive feedback to The REC.
New Business
Consider approval for the new design and rendering of the Oak Grove Softball Complex
concept plan.
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Christian Ross to approve the
Oak Grove Softball concept plan. Motion passes 9-0.

Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr.

Presentation
Kevin Mitchell gave a presentation over the Quality of Life projects that were presented
at a special City Council meeting on Monday, January 9.
PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken)
Athletics, Scott Hardeman reported on the following:
Fieldhouse USA grand opening, an upcoming pickleball tournament, 28 upcoming
tournaments scheduled through July, and registration for GBS is taking place.
Capital Projects, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
Greenhouse grand opening.
Lake Parks/Events, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Daddy/Daughter Dance, the new PARD website launch, and the REI/DORBA trail
workathon at Horseshoe Trails.
Parks Maintenance, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following:
Christmas decorations/storage facility and the Parks Walk the Halls Day at the Capitol.
Recreation, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Transportation of children from Community Outreach to Compass Center, AARP
Driver's Safety class, lifeguard certification classes, and the north racquetball court at
The REC is being redone.
Volunteerism, Chris Smith reported on the following:
Environmental Education Outreach program curriculum development.

GCISD Report — no presentation given.
GHS Report — Tatum Tellin reported on the following:
Two band students from GHS selected as all -state musicians, the Beauty & The Beast
performance from February 2-7, boys and girls soccer has begun, and the basketball
records for boys (3-3) and girls (6-1).
Adjourn
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting
at 7:02 p.m. Motion passed 9-0.
