Kevin Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met February 16, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in The REC of Grapevine Administrative Conference Room, 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: MEMBERS Ray Harris, Chairman Roy Robertson John Dalri Terry Musar Krystyna Plut Debra Tridico Christian Ross Dave Buhr With the following member absent: Larry Francis LIAISONS Paul Slechta (City Council) Jorge Rodriguez (GCISD) Constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff: Kevin Mitchell Kathy Nelson The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Director Capital Improvement Projects Manager Approval of Minutes A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Dave Buhr to approve the January 19, 2017 minutes. Motion passed 8-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Citizen Comments There were no citizen comments. New Business Consider approval of the following renewal Adopt -An -Area agreements: • Friends of Oak Grove Park for C. Shane Wilbanks Trail from Dove Loop Road to Darren G. Medlin Trail • Belfort Homeowners Association for Heritage Avenue from Hall Johnson Road north to dead end • Marty & Tia Metzger for Oak Grove Loop from Dove Loop Road to Soccer Road A motion was made by Christian Ross and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the renewal Adopt -An -Area agreements. Motion passed 8-0. Ayes — Ray Harris, Roy Robertson, John Dalri, Terry Musar, Krystyna Plut, Debra Tridico, Christian Ross, and Dave Buhr. Nays— None Consider approval of the following new Adopt -An -Area agreements: • Kip & Ric Knuth for Silver Lake West Branch Creek south of Gaylord Texan • Joy & Don Mayo for Kimball Road from Silvercrest Lane to Roaring Springs Road A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the new Adopt -An -Area agreements. Nays— None PARD Informational Items (No Action Taken) Athletics, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Fieldhouse USA grand opening on March 18, first tournament of the season, GBS opening ceremonies, and positive coaching alliance. Capital Projects, Kathy Nelson reported on the following: SH 114 Phase I, II, & III, and Bear Creek Dog Park. Lake Parks/Events, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Meadowmere Park, Lakeview Park, Mother/Son Bonding event, and Father/Son Amazing Race event. Parks Maintenance, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Staff is working at the Vineyards Campground and Meadowmere Park. Recreation, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Wettest Egg Hunt, The REC Aquatics Center light change out, Pleasant Glade Pool re- plaster/LED lights, Spring Break Camps, hiring lifeguards for the summer and the shade being added to the playground at The REC. Volunteerism, Kevin Mitchell reported on the following: Volunteer brunch and the Governor Achievement Award was submitted. Miscellaneous Board Items (No action taken) GCISD Report — Jorge Rodriguez reported on the following: Block schedule at GHS, girls' and boys' basketball playoffs, Dr. Ryan's yearly evaluation, and the church on Timberline purchase with the City. GHS Report — No report given. 2 Adiourn Motion was made by Dave Buhr and seconded by Terry Musar to adjourn the meeting at 6:32 p.m. Motion passed 8-0.
