Workshop a success. He distributed his January 2017 Nash Farm Manager's Report
and gave details on the new events planned such as the Parlor Sociables at $15 per
ticket, he said they are great for older people who cannot stand for long periods to be
able to take a seat and visit with others; other events planned were for an 1860's
baseball team, ice cream socials and a three-day teachers institute.
Balla Wright said the Victorian Christmas program had been on a miserable, bad
weather day, but people did show up and participate; she thanked Frances Jensen for
leading the outdoor tours.
Paula Newman reported the stainless steel and copper finishes throughout the Palace
Arts Center had been cleaned; and she hoped all had a chance to see the new carpets.
She said the Palace had a good December with the Texas Tenors, Texas Harmony
Choir and the Christmas movie sell-outs. The Palace will feature two Valentine events,
one with the songs of Frank Sinatra and another featuring Kraig Parker. City Council

by the performers. She said bookings were "up" for weddings in the Palace and
Lancaster venues. Chairman Ratliff said he had had questions from several friends

he asked if possible to have the marquee lit, from dusk until 10 - 11 p.m. each evening,
for the promotion of upcoming events.
Sue Franks reported the GHF Speakers Bureau committee of Janet Perkins, Frances
Jensen and herself were now ready for engagements; she had contacted Rotary and
AMBUCS to be on their agendas and she hopes to have commitments by the next
meeting. They had planned to give their presentation before the board, but will
postpone due to today's time limitations. Balla Wright asked for Farm Manager Cody
Jolliff to help promote the Foundation as part of the Speakers Bureau.

special day in Texas history.

the Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford, New York. He said this year's
theme will be "Breaking through Barriers" and invited the Foundation board members to
attend. Chairman Ratliff told the group this year's National Trust Conference venue in
Houston had really impressed him with Houston's progress in preservation.

tour of the Historic Township for the board to observe the progress made with the 6.5
