SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF A CUSTOMIZED GNOME HOUSE FOR THE
CHRISTMAS CAPITAL OF TEXAS.
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of the purchase of a customized gnome
house to serve as a permanent attraction during Grapevine's Christmas
Capital of Texas programming and decoration.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funding will be available in the Convention and Vistors Bureau Fund upon
approval for an estimated cost of$18,000.
BACKGROUND: As the Christmas Capital of Texas, Grapevine is recognized nationally for
delivering immersive holiday experiences that attract hundreds of
thousands of visitors each season. The addition of a customized Gnome
House will further enhance the guest experience by providing a unique,
family-friendly attraction that encourages exploration, photo opportunities,
and interactive storytelling.
The Gnome House will complement Grapevine's existing holiday
decorations and attractions while creating an additional memorable
destination for residents and visitors of all ages. The attraction will support
the City's continued commitment to providing distinctive, high-quality
experiences that reinforce Grapevine's identity and reputation as the
Christmas Capital of Texas.
This item will be funded by the Convention and Vistors Bureau. Staff
recommends approval.
