SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF KOHA ANNUAL SUPPORT AND HOSTING FOR THE
LIBRARY INTEGRATED OPERATING SYSTEM
RECOMMENDATION: Consider the renewal of the Koha, Integrated Library System (ILS) annual
support and hosting for the Library's integrated operating system from
Bywater Solutions for the Grapevine Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Library) in an estimated amount
of$18,360.
BACKGROUND: This renewal purchase is for Koha support and hosting services for
October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The Koha integrated
library operating system is the technological backbone of the library,
tracking acquisitions, catalog, circulation, payments, subscriptions and
online public access. In addition, Koha is browser based and doesn't
require special installations on staff machines, making it easier to access
in emergencies and less labor intensive for our IT staff.
Library Director recommends approval.
